i meant to do this as i was reading them, but naturally i forgot. anywayz...here are the last three books that i read.

ursus wehrli

this makes my inner obsessive compulsive being so happy.

speaking of soup...here are some recipes that i got in an e-mail a couple of days ago that look delicious and fairly simple. i'm souper excited about cold weather food. that was lame and predictable, i know.

shirts as skirts

this is such a great idea! i don't really have any oversized shirts that i could use, so i may have to go thrift store shopping after work today. i've been looking for an excuse to go lately.

hello friend

it's been too long since i've seen this. i think i just figured out what i'll be doing this evening.

effing gross

here is an awesome article by linda holmes about "the playboy club," and how the show's producers are marketing it as being empowering to women (what the what?).

freaky puppy-ice rod

this is one of my favorite things ever. i would totally be one of his fly girls.

cupcakes

i made some lemon-yogurt cupcakes with strawberry jam the other night. my cupcake intake for the week has been dangerously high.

cliff house

it's too bad it doesn't look like this at all anymore, but i still really want to go here.

...

it's been a while, i kinda forgot for a few months that i had a blog. i also forgot that i set a goal for myself to watch 100 new (to me) films this year. i don't know why i thought that would work out, i don't have that much time to dedicate to movie watching. i wish i did, but that is just entirely idealistic. so i failed. big whoop, wanna fight about it? anyhoo, i just stumbled across this picture and it completely embodies my attitude of what i would like to be doing today...hanging out in a bathing suit and eating pie.

gone with the wind

i know, i know. i'm the last person to watch this film. there, i admit it. i was mainly interested in watching it because i keep coming across references to this scene in particular as i've been doing research for my corset exhibit. there are a couple of historical inaccuracies of her lacing, but hey. so i watched all 3 hours and 53 minutes of it and was enthralled the entire time. worth it.

New Year's Resolution

One of my resolutions was to watch 100 new (to me) films over the course of the year. I stole the idea I must admit, but I'm okay with that. My first film was An Education, and it was wonderful. It's set in London in 1961, so obviously every aspect was visually stimulating. That's not to say that the visual aspect is the only satisfactory one of this film: It's extremely well written and acted also. I'm not going to write a summary of it (that's what the link is for) because I am no longer in college and feel the need to examine works in such detail. Maybe at some point I will change my mind, but I've been out of school for less than a year and it is way too soon for this gal. This image is from one of my favorite scenes in the film when Carey Mulligan and Peter Sarsgaard go to Paris. I feel like there may be a Carey Mulligan obsession brewing, she is so cute it's unreal. I can't wait until I can watch her new film Never Let Me Go. Ta ta for now.
